Veteran’s Day.
Posted by nico under: Life as we know it .
I know it’s tempting to curl up in pajamas and watch NCIS all day, but let’s not forget about our veterans and current soldiers on this day (or any day for that matter!). With the current financial situation of our nation and the historic results of the Presidential election, it seems lately that the wars have all but disappeared from the headlines. There was a good article in The Nation that says it a lot better than I could.
Do you know a soldier? Give them a hug today. Show them you appreciate them. Don’t know one? You can still show your support through programs like Adopt a Soldier or by checking with your local USO branch for ways you can help.
I know that I write a lot about my political views and personal opinions on this blog, but never let that lead you to believe that I don’t appreciate everything soldiers do for this country. Without their service and the service of those before, I may not have the opportunity to express my opinions at all. I just want to say thanks.

Veteran’s from around the world should be honored for their sacrifice….although, I did not agree with this war in Iraq, our brave men and women rose to the challenge and have done ,and still doing their duty to this day over there and we thank them all.
I just find it very offensive when we who didn’t believe in this war and said so, are automatically regarded as”un patriotic” and told to leave the country if we don’t hold with it….just so childish and even more ridiculous.
I, as a citizen of this country do not have to agree with the President and every move he makes, espeically if I see it as wrong in my mind….we are not puppets and are allowed to voice our opinion and say so without bring made to feel “un American” for it.
I just want the troops to be brought home ASAP….no need for one more drop of blood to be lost in that country on either side, it was a trumped up war from day one and for that I will never forgive Bush/Cheney and Rumsfeld and even Colin Powell for taking us down that road.
